Have you tried using only 1 stick at a time?

I hope that the re-install solved the problem.

Is the after 24 hours blue screen a recurring issue?

Did you put the two sticks that failed back in?

Check you motherboard manual, it will tell you what slots need to be used with 1 stick, which slots need to be used with 2 sticks, etc.

Some MOBOs must have one stick in only one slot, if in the wrong slot you will have problems.
2 sticks in two specific slots, wrong slots and you'll have problems.

See above, must be in the exact slots mentioned in your motherboard manual.

Please be more specific, what memory stick did you put in which slot.

You may have a bad slot, take good notes when testing your RAM.

You are hunting for both bad RAM and bad slots.
If a RAM stick fails, check it in another slot. Then check an already passed RAM stick in that slot that failed.

Tell us exactly what the 'very strange' timing info was, and was it the same on any other stick or are they all different?

You mentioned you had 8GB RAM and two failed, tell us exactly how many sticks you have and what the capacity of each stick is.
List them one by one.

Did you buy all the RAM at the same time?
From the same place?
Did this RAM run in a different computer?

Your MOBO will have a standard low default setting for Auto, this is to keep from frying the RAM on initial startup, you will need to set the BIOS to the RAM specifications.
Most RAM will run at a lower settings, will depend on the RAM.

If two sticks pass the mem86 test separately, but not together, it could be a bad slot or incompatible RAM.
Which slots where they tested in?

Be methodical in your testing, keep good notes.

Did you install the drivers from the DVD or D/L new ones?

Did you flash your BIOS?
What BIOS version is installed now?
Is there a newer version available?
Check your MOBO site for any known problems with that MOBO or version of BIOS.

Sorry for the overload, but you have asked a lot of questions and tried many things.
It's difficult for us to know exactly the steps you have taken, a small clue may tip one of us off to the potential culprit.

At this point the possibilities are many, need to start narrowing them down, one at a time.

That's strange, the ddr1 could mean it's running in single channel mode, not good.

The random re-starts are indicating a serious error.

Check updates for your drivers, chipset would be the first one to look at.

Check the BIOS version and if there is a newer one, when you have some time.
If there is a new BIOS check if the change log mentions anything about RAM issues.

Random problems with RAM can be attributed several possible causes, these are a few known issues.

• CPU heat sink or block over tightened, or could be a bent CPU pin.
• VTT not set high enough to drive all channels.
• MSConfig settings. Start menu then type msconfig then go to boot tab, Advanced options, then uncheck Number of processors & Maximum memory, then Restart your pc and check your listed RAM.

For the heat sink and water block, try loosening the bolts a quarter turn at a time, check RAM listing.
D/L and run Real Temp or other temperature monitoring program.
If temps are high, check CPU pins and thermal paste.

When testing RAM sticks always test slots. If you get a bad test change the stick and test again to check for a bad slot, these can be random so keep that in mind.
