    Freezing, and choppiness?

My laptop all of a sudden refused to start up a month ago, so i used the Dell backup thing to restore my computer to factory settings (like it formatted everything)....everything was fine until 2 days ago...everything freezes all the time, menus take like 30 seconds to open, everything is just running SLOW. I thought i might have a virus...but according to a full scan on Windows Defender I do not. How do i fix this?...I want my computer to run normally. (btw its not because of lack of space...i have like 87 GB of space left)

    thanks!

    Welcome

    Run an antivirus scan
    Download and run malwarebytes.
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    Take memtest86, to test memory
    http://memtest.org/

Type cmd in search, then right click. In the cmd prompt type sfc /scannow, to look for corruption

    Check the event viewer.

    Take the clean boot test
