    Can't load my desktop

I have a boot problem since this morning. Apparently every time I put in the password in my log on account, once it's login in, it flashes into a black screen and returns me back to the logon screen. I can normally log in using safe mode. I would gladly appreciate if someone could help me with this problem.

    Somethings to notice:
Already did system restore, system repair, disk checking and nothing.
I think the cause of the problem was TuneUp, after doing some "cleaning" I turned off the computer and since then I can't load up correctly, tried undoing what TuneUp did but during the process the program "stops working". I don't know what else to do...

Hi RegiKing, you can also try to run your system repair with your CD... GL :)

    Try this:
    Safe Mode

    Startup Repair
Note: You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

    System Repair Disc - Create
    System Recovery Options
    Repair Install

Yup I also did a system restore and nothing...

I will try and copy the registry from a computer that's the same model to the one I am having problems with. Hope that works since that might be what TuneUp messed up at.

EDIT: Apparently that didn't work. Do you have any other idea of what I can copy to maybe fix my issue?

EDIT 2: In system restore I got no restore points only from yesterday, but I didn't use TuneUp yesterday, used it 3 days ago and no other restore points appear when I check "show more restoration points"

ok just today I decided to try some msconfig tweaks and after playing with it I was able to load my dekstop back again. I am still though able to boot normally with certain services disables so right now I am in the process of checking which service is the cause of this mess.

To do a clean boot start safe mode.

    Run msconfig

On general tab selecte selective startup and UNcheck all 3 options below it. Then go to Services Tab and click on "deselect all" (Note I am doing a translation of the options based on the spanish names). Now reboot and hopefully this will fix it. Now to see what may be the cause of the boot, start by again going msconfig, under services tab and select a certain number of services to start when you boot. Go checking little by little until you find the culprit (which is what I am doing right now)

    Hope this helps

Sorry for posting a lot, but I just know found what the problem is. As said in my first post, TuneUp had something to do, I installed a third-party windows 7 style and apparently that is what makes my computer unable to pass the log on screen. Anyone got any ideas on how I might be able to fix this? I can't use Aero themes or anything, the theme appearing is the simplest it can be...

you probably have to manually edit your boot.cfg file I dont know how or with what but you need this fille to be reset to default values or try installing another theme with the software and swtiching to that one
maybe a different them wont be corrupt and will give you the ability to get back to original windows stuff

what software is this your using
