There are many issues with USB wireless adapters - particularly with Windows 7
Also, the speeds are slower, so I agree with CarlTR6 - go with an internal card that sits in a slot on your mobo

and this one happened when i was using windows compatibility with button monitor version 4.2.3.9 i had to install this so i can use the eject button on the chassis
(The three extra buttons on the chassis (for eject, backup and photo frame) manifest in Device Manager as a single device of type "USB Input Device". The bus-reported description for this device is "IOI Smart Reader".

The results in Google for this device are all diagnostic logs for unrelated issues, but those logs all state that the computers that the "IOI Smart Reader" is connected to are either Packard Bell iXtreme models, or the Gateway DX4300 (which has the same chassis if you look it up, plus Gateway is part of the same group of companies).

Gateway's website has a "Photo Frame" utility available for download (so the same name as one of the buttons).

I tried installing it on my machine and now my eject button works (I still don't know what the other buttons do though).

Here's a link to the download page:

Gateway Photo Frame Software Version 4.2.3.10)
packard bell have not got the software on there site and the support page is pretty lame it seems when you do a reinstall of the operating system the software does not get reinstalled the chassis is the same as>
Gateway Support - DX4300*Gateway DX4300 Desktop Series
the buttons are all connected to the software and only work when windows is running so i cant use the dvd/cd player if i need to use a disc to boot i have to use external drive i have tried explaining this to packard bell but they are not that helpful i no acer own them but cant find anything on there site yet
