just updating is there a prob with tune up utilities ?
Not specifically; but it is totally unnecessary - and tuneup utilities can degrade performance and cause system problems. As it was explained to me - the core operating system is a closed system. These vendors are just guessing at what may improve performance. They do not have access to the core system coding. And the core is very different from XP and even Vista. Therefore you are relying on a third party's best guess as to what will improve the system.

In short, what used to work in XP, may in fact cause problems in Win 7. There is no third party software out there that can and will improve Win 7's performance - at least not at this time. Ditch it and let Win 7 take care of itself - including the registry.

It may turn out that kis is not the problem, but since it is a known problem on some systems, we have to do a process of elimination - trial and error. :)

Once we get you running smoothly, you can try kis again and see what happens.

I would suggest staying with MSE no matter what happens. Just a subjective opinion, there is no right or wrong.
