    Windows7 keeps freezing

Hi I just bought and installed windows 7 yesterday using the student discount version of home premium it installed fine but now whenever I turn it on it just freezes my harddrive makes some weird repetitive sound and I can't do anything. I tried booting into safe mode and it wouldn't boot. So I called windows support and the guy told me he could fix it for 140 dollars and I'm not doing that. Also I heard that the student discounted home premium was having issues is that what's going on. I probably should have mentioned this earlier but it also said that it recovered from a problem and said it was blue screen. So I'm guessing that's the problem lol if someone could help me out that would be awesome I don't even have a computer right now I'm writing this on my iPhone

Wow, this thread started in 2009. I still have problems with it freezing. I have 8GB RAM. I use the 64 bit version. I see one alternative is to put it to sleep, but then my network does not work.

Is there anything new about this?
