yeah the F8 thing brings me to a menu that doesn't let me recover using the CDs I made. I need to get to the HP system recovery through F11 but F11 isn't working due to a random glitch that occurs when vista users upgrade to windows 7. I also ran that CPU tester overnight and it came up with no errors. So these huge hiccups when I copy large amounts of files or access a lot of data from my hard drive is the cause of a faulty hard drive? How would i test my hard drive if its failing so that i can replace it under warranty and how do i fix this windows vista/win7 upgrade bug that prevents me from wiping my hard drive and restoring it from my CDs? HP Recovery Manager Application Update - HP Customer Care (United States - English) I already tried that and the install fails every time.
