    Windows boot up flickering screen+hang

Hi i would like some support for this problem im facing with my windows

    info:
    Laptop: dell studio 1557
OS: Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Description: Windows was working fine but after a restart when the blue animation screen of "windows loading" (see screenshots attached) appears, the system hangs (i can still move the cursor though) and the screen flickers continuously.! =(

I tried the following to no avail:
    1) boot from "last known good config" - Same problem
    2) try to restore to an earlier restore point - recently installed my windows, no restore
    point detected
    3) try to repair startup - no errors detected but booting into windows still same
    problem
    4) tried to repair windows from the windows 7 dvd - still not working

Windows is booting into safe mode which would mean that there is some driver/software related problem.

I am in the process of uninstalling all drivers and then ill try booting into windows, if it works ill reinstall all drivers again.

I dont want to have to reinstall my os because its painful having to reinstall everything all over again ...

Thanks in advance guys, much appreciated.

Try this. If it works in clean boot, we can easily determine the cause by following the instructions.

    Hi richc46,

I tried what u said and just when i startup with the minimal services, i get a BSOD which shows for like 1-2 seconds from which i managed to read "crash Dump" and then the system restarts..!

i get the feeling i will have to reinstall but i dont want to because then my ubuntu and ultimate edition installations will go kapoot! =((

If I am wrong I will do a detailed analyis, but it looks like your firewall.
    Uninstall your antivirus and firewall

STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Usual causes: Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility

Download Microsoft Security Essentials and use the Windows Firewall.

If problem contiunes post with new dump report.
But I think this will solve the problem
    http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

If you also download and use malwarebytes free edition. You will have security at least as good as you have now and no problems.

You paid for the key, money gone. You use Security Essentials, its free. You have a good antivirus and the same money is gone.

If you start uninstalling parts of your Anti Virus, I do not know it the Anti Virus will work or if it will solve the problem . I gave you the name of the actual problem driver in my last post.
