i can assure you carl i went to the site and got the update. i have done this Uninstall any program on this list. Then navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers and make sure PxHlpa64.sys is not there. If it is rename it to PxHlpa64.bak.( i renamed it.) and this >
KMWDFILTER.sys is a driver for wireless lasermouse TRUST MI-7700R. If you have replaced your mouse, rename this driver to KMWDFILTER.bak i renamed this too. and the two dvd/cd drives in device manager says >Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)<

That may well be the latest update for your particular card. Did these BSOD's occur before the update and renaming? I am still seeing PxHlpa64.sys. I will check all three of the dmps.

Here is what I find in all three dumps:
Quote:
nvoclk64.sys Mon Aug 18 12:00:01 2008 (48A99C81)
nvstor64.sys Wed Apr 29 21:57:30 2009 (49F9058A)
PxHlpa64.sys Wed Mar 12 21:58:17 2008 (47D88A39)
tifsfilt.sys Wed Aug 29 08:37:29 2007 (46D56889)
timntr.sys Wed Aug 29 08:38:23 2007 (46D568BF)
You did, indeed, get the main NVidia drivers updated.

Nvoclk64.sys is a driver file from company NVidia Corp. belonging to product NVidia System Utility Driver.

nvstor64.sys
is a NVIDIA nForce(TM) SATA Driver

I was unable to find updates for these two drivers any newer than what you have. You might go to the NVidia website and search specifically for these two drivers.

You need to completely uninstall Acronis using Revo. Once you uninstall Acronis and rename PxHlpa64.sys, reboot and let's see what happens. For now, you can let NVidia ride.

I don't find Acronis or any of the other programs associated with those files. Rename both of them to .bak and reboot.

renamed these to .bak
tifsfilt.sys
timntr.sys
what does .bak do stop the driver running?

this was the reply from packard bell just now>

To solve your issue, please follow the instructions given below:

Any notebook or desktop PC that has been purchased at either Currys, Dixons or PC World is not currently supported by Acer directly. The Dixons Store Group have purchased all warranty terms from Acer, therefore for any software or hardware support please contact the “The Tech Guys” on 0844 800 6020 and they will be happy to repair the machine (if a hardware problem exists) or provide support for your operating system supplied with the machine.

Regards,
PackardBell Support.

Very good on renaming the drivers. What that does is block the drivers from being loaded at boot up. The system looks for *.sys files and ignores anything else like .bak, .old, etc. The downside is that any hardware or software depending on these renamed drivers will not run or not run properly.

Interesting answer from Packard Bell. Is you computer still under warranty?
