BSOD when laptop's video output is interupted.

    Windows 7 x86.
The original OS was XP sp3.
This is a full retail version.
The system is about 3 years old.
The os has been installed about 4 months,
and has been reinstalled 3 times.

I am running a Dell Inspiron 1501 that is about 3 years old. I periodically run the video feed from my laptop to a monitor and work off the monitor instead. If at any given time I unplug the vga cord from the laptop I blue screen and reset. The simplest solution is to not disrupt the video feed I realize, however it shouldn't glitch like that anyways. Another reason I want to figure this out is that I will also periodically work from two machines and use a trendnet switch to go between the two machines while using only 1 monitor, keyboard, and mouse. If I work on the laptop then switch feeds to the secondary pc, the laptop blue screens and resets and I lose all my work. Attached is the zipped information from the bsod program.

I also saw that in my performance report html output that it lists me as having no AV (I have sunbelt VIPRE, just in case that becomes a question) and it lists my video drivers as out of date, but there aren't newer drivers for me so in case that's a question.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help on this!

Did the zip not include the .dmp file? I followed the bsod how to forum I thought. Hmmm, how do I acquire this .dmp file for submission?

"Zip up the entire Windows7_BSOD_jcgriff2 folder & the PERFMON HTML file and attach the zip file to your post."

There are 3 .dmp files within the zip file. Should I only upload the .dmp not the zip like this link says to: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Do I need to re-upload just the .dmp files? I'm still trying to figure this problem out if anyone has any ideas?

Yes, you can just upload the .dmp files, but you must zip them up first...

Unfortunately I was unable to load the correct symbols for your .dmp files, Enable driver verifier.. this will stress your drivers and force a BSOD...

    here's the procedure:
    - Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    - Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
    - Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
    - Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Replace these drivers as soon as possible, as anyone of them may be the reason for your crashe..

    These don't seem too hard.

Deep Freeze is probably causing the problems, so please remove it completely and see what happens.

ZoneAlarm is well known for causing BSODs. Please remove it with this tool: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Replace it with the free Microsoft Security Essentials.

VMware was mentioned as having a corrupted driver, so be sure to uninstall it and install a fresh, updated copy.

If these suggestions don't work, enable driver verifier as Tews suggested.

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: c0000046, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 82c478f8, The address that the exception occurred at

I started the verifier and now my computer won't stop blue screening. At first it would give the windows logo, then bsod. So I load in safe mode, and uninstall zone alarm, then it would get to the screen to select a user, then wait 5 seconds and bsod. I reboot in safemode and get a windows alert that there's an error with deepfreeze. I uninstalled deepfreeze and still couldn't get past that bsod. I am unable to uninstall vmware because it fails in safemode and I can't load windows. I feel like verifier is still running even though I ran verifier reset. Is there something I am missing to make it stop overloading my drivers? Thanks for the help, this is driving me insane.
