    Blue Screen Blues...

Hello, I've had my new computer for about a month now, and the past few weeks I've been getting the dreaded BSOD crashes. I did some research on my own, and tried to track down the problem, but I have not had any luck.

Below are my computer specs and zip's of the minidumps from the past 3 days, and an html of my resource/performance report.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

    System Specs:

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)

    CPU: Intel I5 750 2.6GH Quad core

    MB: Asus P7P55D

    Memory: 6GB DDR3-1600MHZ

    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250

    Display: Asus 24" LCD

    HD: 2x 1000GB Drives

    PS: Toughpower 750W

    STOP 0x00000019: BAD_POOL_HEADER

    Usual causes: Device driver

    STOP 0x000000F4: CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION

Usual causes: This indicates that a process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated.
    Here are the dmp analyzes:

interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: 0000000000000028, memory referenced
    Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
    Arg3: 0000000000000000, bitfield :
        bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: fffff80002f13410, address which referenced memory

The dumps do not point to anything in particular as the cause. Two of them list Windows kernal files as the probable cause. This is most likely not the case. The dumps do this when they cannot pinpoint the cause. The third dmp points to memory corruption. The can be caused by anything from bad RAM to bad drivers to incompatible hardware or software. Thus we are going to have to troubleshoot.

I find the following obsolete driver on your system. Generally Windows 7 does not like obsolete drivers and they can cause system instability. I suggest you update this driver or uninstall the software associated with it if you cannot find a current driver.

    regi.sys Mon Apr 16 11:19:10 2007
    - Regi.sys is a driver file from company InterVideo belonging to product InterVideo regi.sys. http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Product_Support.jsp

After you update the driver or uninstall the software, reboot and see how your system does. If you get another BSOD, up load the new dump file.

Your next step will be to test your RAM. Download a copy of Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool and burn the ISO to a CD using http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/W7. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 7 passes. Post back with the results.

carl, thanks for the help so far, I have uninstalled windvd, which was the program associated with that driver (i think). Now I am running Memtest86, I have never used this program before, but I assume it will let me know if it finds a problem?

I will update with more info when the Mem test is complete. I am going to sleep soon, so most likely will update sometime tomorrow, thanks again for taking the time to analyze my problem!

Thanks Reventon, Pass 1 is done, no errors, i'm going to let it run overnight though, just to make sure.

Very good. And thanks much Reventon.

I, too, am signing off for the night. Be sure to post your results. If I am not here one of the other BSOD team members will step in. I wish you the best.

Ok, ran Memtest through 8 passes with no errors. I have not had another BSOD since yesterday, however my average seemed to be one a day so I'm not out of the clear yet. I have to go to work, but later on today I will have a chance to run my system for awhile to watch for another BSOD. Thanks again guys, I'll keep you updated!

Well, I have run my system at idle for over 12 hours with no crash, and have run it with load (gaming) for about 3 hours without a BSOD. This is an improvement as before I could not run it for more than an hour without a crash. I'm not quite ready to say its fixed yet, but I'm hopeful.

Thanks again for taking the time to look at my crash files and track down the issue. I think it was that bad driver that was messing things up.
