    Crash When Shutting Down/Restarting/Virus Scanning


    It's really starting to worry me. Every time i shutdown or restart my Windows 7 Ultimate x64, it will close all programs then crash. Then my computer will turn back on and it will ask if i want to boot in safe mode, which i say no to. I thought it was a virus so I ran Comodo Virus Scanner, Which crashed 2 hours into it. I uninstalled Comodo and installed Avast. I ran a full computer scan and once again, It crashed the computer.

    At this point I booted into safe mode and scanned and it worked fine. I googled a post and heard something about .dmp files. I enabled "minidumping" and got the .dmp files. The only problem is to read them, you have to download the special debugging kit which is taking me hours. Once it gets done I'll try to analyze them but in the meantime, can anyone help me? I posted the .dmp files in a zip archive.

    In an effort to speed things along I read the newest crash file. It was caused by your VcommMgr.sys VCOMMMGR.SYS is Bluetooth VcommMgr driver. Manufacturer: IVT Corporation IVT Corporation Homepage -- Empowers the Bluetooth wireless technology.

    I would remove it to test and if y 9ou absolutely must re-install it go to the mfr site and get an updated copy and install.

    Thanks for such a speedy reply, I didn't think anyone would respond that fast. Thank you for analyzing the file, I tried upgrading but the bluetooth wouldn't work properly. So I'm just going to try update to the version just before the latest release. If that doesn't work I'm going to switch to the default windows drivers, which seemed to work fine before. But before i do any of that I have to wait for the Debug-kit-thing to download completely. Thanks for your reply, how do i remove the VcommMgr.sys driver? Or would I have to uninstall the whole program?

    Our pleasure. How you remove the current driver depends on which you are going to re-install.

    If you want to let windows re-install it simply go into device manager (type device manager in search) and go to the bluetooth tab. Uninstall the driver there and reboot. Windows will re-install the same driver that worked previously.

    If you want to go to the mfr and get a different version go there and get it. Then uninstall the driver in device manger and without rebooting install the new driver.
