Extract from Microsoft article support.microsoft.com/kb/2328240 (Fix it 50531)

    Using manual section below :-
Delete the contents of the directories that are listed here.
    (%windir% is the Windows directory.)

    LocalService:

    %windir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\Content
    %windir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\MetaData

    NetworkService:
    %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\Content
    %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\MetaData

    LocalSystem:
    %windir%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\Content
    %windir%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\MetaData

I have 3 machine two Windows 7 32bit the other is 64bit and I have received event 4107 error
since June or July only on 64bit version. All three machines have similar software installed.
Question 1 does the 4107 apply only to 64bit version ?
Question 2 Relates to Ms manual deletion for "LocalService" I cannot find "LocalLow" on any of
my machines instead I get "Local" which eventually arrives at "cache" which happens to
be empty. Does any one else have similar.

There is now a "Fix it for me" link at:

Event ID 4107 or Event ID 11 is logged in the Application log in Windows and in Windows Server

This fixes the problem automatically. I have just used it but whether it works remains to be seen.

McAfee software has been implicated with this problem. Are you using McAfee Total Protection 2010 or similar?

Hello MJF. No I use Norton Internet Security. I have had the CAP12 Error problem since July with daily error messages. I am hoping that this might be resolved at last.

MJF your last post seems to have vanished. I did not try the manual fix because it was a bit beyond my abilities and I have read so many suggestions on various Forums that I decided to wait and see what happens. I have now used the automatic fix and so far so good, but it is early days yet.

YES. Nothing since 12th November, it's wonderful! But why did Microsoft take so long to put this right.
