Windows Only Boots After Power Drained
Hi everyone, I have a problem that I hope you can help me out with here.
Windows only boots after I drain the power from my PC. In other words, if I want it to run, I need to shut off my PSU, hold the power button, then turn it back on. Yet another strange thing is that I need to mash the BIOS button (F2) for Windows to boot. Otherwise, the screen stays black.
When I first installed Windows 7, this was also a problem. After the computer was drained/unplugged, I needed to mash F2 the first boot so it worked, but after that I didn't have problems booting. Only recently has THIS happened.
My computer turns on fine, though. Lights turn on, fans spin, I can open the DVD drive, ect. However, windows fails to boot.
If I try powering it on without first draining it, it says it's detected failed POST attempts (possibly due to recent hardware changes or BIOS modifications), and prompts me into the BIOS. If I go into the BIOS and then exit, same thing happens.
I'm dumbfounded. Never have I encountered something like this. Can someone please help me? Many thanks.
My system specs were entered when I made an account, so I don't know where they will show up, but there somewhere.
