Laser 7 Port USB Hub BSOD

Hey guys i am running a windows 7 32bit OS, full retail version.
My computer is less than a year old. I just bought a USB hub and it runs perfectly fine until i shutdown my computer and get the BSOD. Is there any fix for this?

The USB Hub is a 7 port Laser hub and can run off power as well as just usb. I get the BSOD even if nothing else is attached to the hub. At the moment I am running off the AC cable as well.

I think the drivers are just generic as no information is provided on the company (lasercorp sp?) website.

Thanks for any help that you can provide. I appreciate the time taken.

Welcome!

It does look as if your USB drivers are causing the issue. I suggest updating your USB drivers via Device Manager, or uninstall all USB devices under USB list, then restart your machine to see if it helps

I see three other potential causes. First, please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

Second, your ASACPI.sys driver is outdated, and it is a major cause of BSODs on Asus boards. Please install the latest ATK0110 driver for Windows 7/Vista from the Utilities section at this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

Finally, ESET should be updated. Go here and download the latest version: Best Free Antivirus Software Trial: Free Home, Business and Gaming Download from ESET

Hey guys.

I have done what was advised and still keep getting the BSOD, although the error message differs slightly in that it appears longer.

That's driver is not updated yet and appear to be the cause in one of the crash dump file, please update it know. Please visit this link as Jonathan King suggested: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about 11th or 12th item, make sure to check the name).

Sptd.sys is till there, make sure to remove Deamon and use the tool Jonathan King provided to remove sptd.sys
Code:
sptd sptd.sys Mon Jul 27 03:12:28 2009 (4A6CB8AC)
Have you done re-installing the driver as I suggested? most of the new crash dump still point to your USBhub, I think you might want to contact the manufacturer if fixing the drivers doesn't help

The Laser 7 port powered hub is known to "backfeed" power, which could likely be causing the issues you are having. It's an extremely cheap device and is NOT USB standards compliant. (You'll notice that the packaging does not carry a USB Certified logo)
