BSOD caused by file watchdog.sys (apparently..)

    Hello,

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a fresh new system with no re-installment of OS.

I've been having a BSOD and would be really glad if u could help me out...

Attached is my file collection app zip, I didn't attach the perfmon log because my OS is not in English and therefore the log isn't also...
I also attached the minidump from the windows driver verifier.

    Thank you!

    Thank you!

This crash was caused by asacpi.sys. This file is used by Asus utilites and various others. Yours is old and needs to be updated. That should resolve this issue

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
    SFC /SCANNOW

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 00000000000000f6, Referencing user handle as KernelMode.
Arg2: 00000000000000e4, Handle value being referenced.
Arg3: fffffa800768fa70, Address of the current process.
Arg4: fffff8801068e257, Address inside the driver that is performing the incorrect reference.

The system file check returned "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".

How can I update my asacpi.sys file?

go to the asus website and find your motherboard then download the latest 64 bit version of the asus probe utility if you wish to still use it , or simply unninstall it from your system ?

also if and when you are clear from bluescreens turn off driver verifier

OK, I went to ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- and put my motherboard model (P5QL-EM) but I'm not sure which file to download.. Is it the chipset one?

This bsod is caused by AVG anti virus. Uninstall it and switch to other AV.

Dinesh how did you find that? ASACPI.sys is the likely cause...deal with that then post the new dumps should they come.

Watchdog.exe is a process from AVG. So I guessed it could be the reason.

The BSOD said watchdog.exe once, I'm not really sure if that's the corrupt file.
