Dual booting Kubuntu/Windows7 fail to load drivers or crash at startup

    HI,

Got a really annoying problem. I am having a dual boot machine with Win7 and Kubuntu 10.04 x64. For some reason every time I have been in Kubuntu and try to reboot into Windows, either a lot drivers fail to load at startup and I have to reboot (which normally leads to everything being okay) or Windows crashes doing startup. I have tried to run Chkdsk, which says everything is okay and sfc /scannow which also says everything is okay. After one crash I tried to start up in 'recovery mode' but Windows were unable to repair what ever the problem was. There does not seems to be any problem with Kubuntu!
    Anyone having similar problems?
Any help would be really appriciated
    Thanks

Since window (SFC, and chkdsk) seem to indicate Win 7 is ok, and Kubuntu also seems ok, I suspect it is in the boot loader. What/how are you picking the active OS?

Could be a problem with GRUB2, search for it on the Ubuntu forums, it reads like a horror story for dual booting.

I had Windows 7 installed and then installed Kubuntu, so it is Grub that is in charge. I have tried to update-grub but that doesn't seem to do anything? Anyway it is like after the first reboot into windows 7 and the restart that something gets reset so that the second reboot into windows will lead to a functional computer. Hope I am making sense. Any suggestion?
