Why do some thread starters do not report (...)?!

I consider myself a rookie member here and it's annoying to see that some thread starters come here, they absorb knowledge, rely on the dedication of members in an attempt to help them and, without any ceremony, let their thread open, reopen others with the same subject, go away without letting us know if the problem has been solved ...
I do not know if this thread is timely, even if I put it in specific forum ... the fact is that I needed to vent my discontent ...
Thanks to all members for your understanding!

@wallonn7 I understand your grief but some posters don't know how to close a thread or let the admin know it has been fixed i myself have left a few threads open but im still gathering info if that makes sense to you

but almost everyone that is new doesn't know all the featurs of this site and i have had some posters help me along the way just got to give it time not everyone is savy on this forum as others

just a opinion in not here to crash the party just maybe give a little explanation as to why you see this trend so much

This is very common on any forum. I have been active on several forums and think it is actually less of a problem on this forum. I left one forum because that was the case 80% of the time and on some other forums I would guess it happens about 50% of the time.
I think this kind of behavior is not very polite - but what can you do. Fortunately we often have an interesting side discussion amongst ourselves on those threads. So we are getting something out of it.

Do not think I do not understand that some do not understand the mechanics involved in the forums; this is the first of which I belong, and even then I knew nothing, and I'm still learning. I had some experience with thread starters who could not report the proper thread as solved. What did they do?! They asked me how to do it. I think there should be by those who assist them to be careful in guiding them in such small things.

It seems that you understand fully what I feel and I'm glad I have noticed that in you. :) You added much to report your experience with similar situations in other forums. It is reassuring to know that the index of this problem in SF is below 50%!
Finally, I agree with you when you say "( ... ) Fortunately we often have an interesting side discussion amongst ourselves on those threads. So we are getting something out of it."

that was basicly the point wallonn7 the intention is to gather as much as possible before the thread is fixed that is what i am doing i don't know if other apreciate it or not but i have a reson for leaving mine open

I pretty much take everything that is told to me serious cause there are alot of people out there that pretend they need help just get a response and i feel bad knowing they are just screwing around with no real purpose anyway we understand and apreciate what you have to say and belive me if you need to vent this is the place to do it

we are all here for the same purpose to get the best out of what we build based on others knoledge and opinion I feel that is the only way not to get jipped in this world especially when you are putting together such expensive pieces of equipment

I believe you have reason to keep some of your threads without time to prescribe, and I appreciate it. After all, you seem to be the kind that defends his views, which is also commendable! The problem that I report here occurs not when the thread starter can expand the possibilities of his subject by keeping it open, as you seem to do; is, likewise, when the thread starter simply abandons the self doubt, or be shy to share the achievement answer.

Unfortunately this is the nature of support forums, people join up ask a question and then read the replies and never come back or acknowledge that they have been helped or thank people for their input.
I am an active member of a lot of forums and one in particular where I have just on eight thousand post helping people and have only been thanked about ten times.
I don't worry as i know that other people with the same problem will benefit from the post being left up

I was beginning to think that our struggle was never-ending ... Glad that we managed to find a conciliatory point. :) Do you really want to be my friend?! The reverse is true!
