Windows 7 Ultimate Retail Box (64-bit installed) + Service Pack 1
review of reviewing your newegg purchases reviews RANT

Hi, I am currently going insane trying to decide what new system to put together.

Here's what's driving it:

My wife is NOT a power user by any means, so my previous PC is what we have agreed when the time comes for her to get one, I get an upgrade.

The time has come, her PC of the moment is having some minor issues (major to her, minor to me )

See my system specs, it's running just fine for me, which means it's a speedboat for her.
She doesn't get the 5850, but my spare 8800 GTS or 7950GT, remember those, will do her more than just fine, currently running along with 7600 GS (fanless) 128-bit beast, which is good because the old system just can't quite handle the 8800 or 7950, the 8800 may have gotten damaged in trying and the 7950GT works, but would need more expense for cooling in the case, and she just doesn't need it.

She's got my old AMD Athlon 64 FX-55, it's more than adequate for her actually.

So, I go out to newegg to start the investigation.

OK besides all that, NEWEGG REVIEWERS ARE 10% MORANS! (see MORAN in a search)

Quit ****ing posting DOAs or stuff not related as a factor in reviewing the hardware.
STFU in fact, don't even post if you are too stupid to stay on topic.

Then there are the people who put in a review as a comment on it when they don't own it yet, again STFU!

Thanks, I feel better!

The # of items that have a STFU review in them is astounding!

Mods: If this is too much I understand, delete.

I'm just angry!

I know I have to mail order hardware, no store carries locally, what I need, and with the high heat out here, I fear DOAs, and no I won't post DOA STFU messages.

...and no I still haven't decided...
Post a rec if you must.

Right this second, I'd be going with:
ASUS Rampage III Gene mobo
i7-930 CPU
Mushkin 998826 (3x2) Triple Channel DDR3 RAM. (high end RAM, probably overkill)

If I went AMD's way for a lot less $:
ASRock 870 Extreme3 mobo with Phenom II X4 945, and cheaper 4 (2x2) Ripjaw G-Skill 1600 RAM.

Spotify stopping purchases
Bought a few from them in the past that are either not available on CD or just fancied the odd one, since they mostly seemed to be 320 kbps, but it seems they are not doing so now for those of us who actually had the option to buy. Spotify closes its online music store (Wired UK)...
Chillout Room
Do you trust game reviews / worst game installed but got good review
Do you listen and trust game reviews or judge them for your self. Would you still buy a game if it only got fair review but the price was cheap enough. What game did you install and was deeply disappointed even when the game got a good review
Steam Purchases
If I were to buy a game on Steam now on a slow computer and not play it and instead just uninstall it and keep it in my Steam Library, then when I get another computer is there anyway I can redownload Steam and sync that game for free onto my new computer? - It doesn't matter about losing gamedata.
