    Help please!!!! Laptop display problem!!!


    Ok, i dropped my laptop down the stairs about a week ago, the screen is the only thing messed up. hardware and everything is fine.

    Acer Aspire 5515
    3 gb RAM
    1.6 MHz AMD Athlon Processor
    160 GB Harddrive
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit, upgraded from Windows Vista Basic 32-bit

    ok, everything works, the laptop turns on. but what i need help is, how do i get the display onto a different screen? just to access my files and ect. i have a VGA cord and a second screen, i just gotta know how to get my laptop onto another display on the login screen. PLZ!!!!!!!!! I NEED HELP!!!! THANKYOU!

    I"m not sure you can do it without changing the default screen on your original screen.When you hook up another screen to your laptop (not sure what graphics you have) you normaly need to go into the display area of control panel and select which screen is default so without being able to see on your screen I don't know how you would change it to the second display. If you've tied hooking up your vga to the new display and don't get a signal then this would be the reason.Their may be a way I'm not aware of so hopefully someone else has a suggestion that will work.     I believe the command is Fn + F5, but look at your F keys for one that says "CRT/LCD"
