Get everyone together and take her out for dinner! Surprise her!
Flower's are always nice along with a special card from you.
She will appreciate anything from you.

Scented candles are cheap and plentiful.

But it really depends on your grandmother - she might like going to watch hog wrestling or cock fights for all we know

Being up in the years myself:

Suggestion number one: Ask her what she would like. Listen carefully.

Suggestion number two: No candy, no candles, no kitsch unless she specifically requests one of these items.

Suggestion number three: Always include a personal birthday card.

My mom is 74 and loves the digital picture frame I got her. Get one with a USB port and by using two cheap USB thumbdrives and you can send her fresh pictures from time to time. (You send her one stick with new pictures and she mails the other back to reload with more for the next time.) Get all her other grandkids to send you pictures and you will have lots of fresh snapshots for her. :)

No - get her a candle.

You didn't say she had to like this present
