The thread subject is not about the x64 ARCHITECTURE, its about the Windows 7 x64 OPERATING SYSTEM, Microsoft's attempt to utilize those architectures...
My humble opinion is that you are now confused...
Architecture is hardware, OSs are software.
Intels design sucked since day 1. IBM chose 8088 because it was cheap, not because it was superior. Then they had to maintain "compatibility"...
That's why we're here, with what we have now.
That depends on the mission...Nobody thinks 16 bit is better than 32 bit

Are we back OT ?
The thread's title is Win 7 vs Win 7. What's talked about in the thread is whatever people talk about. I started the thread and I'm defending more than the OS that's running on the Architecture. The x64 Architecture is better than the x86 Architecture, just like I said the first time :P
Hey! Running patch cables is a time-honored profession! I actually worked on one of these plugboards one summer at the tender age of 10 or 11. Every time that thing printed a line (I think about one every 2 seconds) the floor would shake. Long live the IBM 402 ...

I made the jump to 64bit years ago . 32bit is old news . Hell, even 64bit is old news :)
