That's actually a really good point that I'd never thought of...I am not sure if I would say this generation is more rap than anything - sure, Hip hop has made a lot of inbound roads into mainstream culture, but you have to remember - everything that was mainstream was, at one time, the alternative...Rock and roll was alternative....metal was alternative...techno (and more its predecessors, both electronica and industrial) were alternative....
Oh yeah? Well I'd rather take Rosie O'Donnell out to dinner...I would rather beat my head in with a rusty mace.
Ever listen to Earl Klugh? Some great jazz guitar...[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7fF_eRYM5k"]YouTube - Earl Klugh - This Time[/ame] It's got a nice smoothness to it that makes me appreciate it. I also get a feel when I hear jazz guitar like a voice is going to say softly, "you're watching the Weather Channel."I play trumpet in Wind Ensemble and Marching band (and a little jazz), so I do enjoy classical. I don't have any I listen to, but I enjoy playing it.
