    Facebook Trying to Trademark "Face"

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Facebook, which has gone after sites with the word "book" in their names, is also trying to trademark the word "face," according to court documents.
But the social networking site has met with a familiar foe. As TechCrunch first reported, Aaron Greenspan has asked for an extension of time to file an opposition to Facebook's attempt. Greenspan is the president and CEO of Think Computer, the developer of a mobile payments app called FaceCash.
    Details...

First, they think they own "book", and now "face." Sad.

Next week, I'm filing for a trademark on the number 512, given that it is in my screen name. No one else should be allowed to use that number without my permission.

There's another social networking party called Faceparty that's been around for 10 years, which is before Facebook.

I like Facebook as well, but this is ridiculous. This is what I've heard called "copyright trolling". Which means: they think that if another company uses the word "face" or "book" in their products/websites, we're all so stupid that we're liable to think said product/website is affiliated with Facebook. Wait a minute ... Apple named their new video calling service FaceTime! That must mean it's part of Facebook! Yeah, right.

Come to think of it, Facebook suing Apple over "FaceTime" could be fun to watch.

Makes you wonder if the owners of Failbook and Monster Cable are related, seeing as MC tends to go after anyone and anything with "monster" in its name.

True. I wish they did try to sue Apple. Again...i love facebook...im on it now. But damn..quit tryin to own everything. They are already popular as hell. Even with alot of other companies using the word "Face" as we speak. They should just leave it alone before they fall flat on there face. Meaning...another company (Which has been around way longer using the word Face) seriously sues them.
