I think the lyrics to this are quite funny. Sad but funny or tongue-in-cheek. Not sure.
Ok folks. Easy one I reckon (they're all easy when you know them)
Won't you look down upon me, Jesus
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way
Sun streaking cold --
an old man wandering lonely.
Taking time
the only way he knows.
Leg hurting bad,
as he bends to pick a dog-end --
he goes down to the bog
and warms his feet.
Recognized that right off
Aqualung Jethro Tull
A Guy
World pollution, there's no solution
Institution, electrocution
Just black and white, rich or poor
Them and us, stop the war
Ok. I left the last line off the verse as it would have given it away:
Look beneath your lid some morning,
See those things you didn't quite consume—
The world's a can for
Indeed you did :) Funny how to you, the poster, they seem so easy, lol. I think it's all about getting the lyrics in the right cadence. Of course, having heard the song helps. I haven't heard the majority of songs in this thread. Saw Alvin Lee and his band called Ten Years Later once back in Winterland. Great guitarist.
A Guy
Go write your message on the pavement
Burnin' so bright I wonder what the wave meant
White heat is screaming in the jungle
Complete the motion if you stumble
Go ask the dust for any answers
Come back strong with 50 belly dancers
Chorus:
The world I love
The tears I drop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
The world I love
The trains I hop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Come and tell me when it's time to
