you know, i tried but i couldn't find one correct definition of the word "pedophile". in essence the word "pedophile" is not a bad thing, it means "child lover", not implicitly or explicitly implying ANYTHING bad, harmful or negative. it saddens me how americans have again *******ized something that is harmless to something that means RUN HIDE YOUR CHILDREN.

now pedophilia, THATS the term that should be used for predators. stupid uninformed public.

maybe i should add some context so i don't come off as one of these sick *******s.

i'm an audiophile, meaning i love stereos, specifically car audio, does that mean that i'm sexually attracted to my stereo? absolutely not, it just meas i have a passion for it.

It's just another word in the long list of words of which the original definition has been distorted and misused over time.

As for the scaremongering and 'RUN HIDE YOUR CHILDREN' - that's a good thing. It's not been blown out of all proportion at all

Everyone knows that pedos are everywhere. They are under beds, behind doors, in sewers, under bridges, up traffic lights, at comic conventions...

How children managed to survive at all in the thousands of years before society got it's act sorted and started wrapping them up in cotton wool and protecting them from the big bad nasty world is unfathomable. Common sense and an ability to understand humour is a worthy price to pay
