I now sit sad wondering when my pillow case will decide to return to me from what must be some vortex it had got sucked into.
Have a word with the underpants gnomes...
Here's some words... not from the underpants gnome, but from the sock Dwarf!

I make that 3 beds (3 top sheets, 3 bottom sheets and 5 pillow cases). But shouldn't that be 6 pillow cases, 2 per bed?

You said that you've checked the machines. But have you checked the wash-basket? Or the ironing pile? What about under the mattress? Back to the dryer. I trust that you cleaned and replaced the lint filter prior to use. Does it have a large flexible pipe carrying warm/hot air away to an external vent? Could your pillow case be somewhere in that pipe?

    LOL, hello sock Dwarf,

One bed has only one pillow. Nope, not in any of those locations. This really has me wondering where it went off to.

Try looking for something else instead. That always seems to work.

It's going to eventual show up right under my nose, then leave me wondering how I didn't notice there.

I'd have thought that you would have noticed. After all, a pillow case is somewhat bigger than a handkerchief. At least it is for most people. Don't know about Aliens though.

Have you looked inside the other pillow cases? could another member of the household be playing mindgames?
have you tried a system restore and failing that ask The Howling Wolves , he's probably behind the whole thing!
