Glad to hear the doctors pleased with the results Jon.

Up to now the machine is not something we've looked into yet so not sure how much it would cost or if he'd get it on the NHS, he's already Asthmatic and Diabetic plus had a heart attack.

He's always suffered with his breathing though and most of the time can't breathe through his nose, when young they took his tonsils out but didn't do anything with his Adenoids so I don't know if that has had any effect.

Hope things keep improving for you and maybe your wife wont laugh too much

Jon, the CPAP has really helped Mae Lyne - and me - to get a good night's sleep. She has been using it almost a year now and it has really made a difference in her. It is a Godsend.

    and your good lady.
    sleep easy now.
Yes, very relieved Julian, especially Sally, as she hears me when i stop breathing. (can't call me an "oxygen thief", lol).

Just got back from my appointment with the cpap man.
Prior to getting the machine i had 32 apneas in 1 hour, with the longest one being 75 seconds.

He downloaded the data and was very happy (me too). Only around 2 minor ones per night.
Sounds like a frightening condition, Jon.
Guess it is, Irene, except i'm not aware of it when i'm (supposedly) asleep. Used to wake up with headaches/migraines, but put that down to sleeping in an awkward position. Was wrong on that point, as since using the cpap machine, have not had any headaches.

Joan, i had my tonsils out at a very early age, like around 60yrs ago when i was 3, so i was told. Adenoids i'm not sure of, but according to the minister of finance, war office and kindly referred to as "the handbrake", these all have a bearing on it.

In my case, my tongue slips down, blocking off the airway.
It is an expense we could do without, but if it gives me (us) a better life, it is worth it.
Though i don't know too much about this cpap business as yet, they have a variety of masks that suit a persons needs.
A small one that goes into the nasal passage.
A nasal mask and a full mask, that covers the nose and mouth.
The technology in these machines is hard to comprehend. Mine is an auto pressure one called APAP. Just put on mask, and go to sleep. Too easy, lol.

Sally can do with a good laugh, so i don't mind it being at my expence.

This will be her when i get home wired for sound, i'm sure.

I didn't know much about cpap machines untill recent. Now i have a greater comprehension, and understand your comment VERY well, Carl.:)

Sally would use your words if asked. "It is a Godsend".
Can't wait to get my own machine as this one is a rental during the initial testing phase.

I have already upset the guy when i asked him how much he charges for his new ones. Bit below rrp, he said.
Explained to him we don't have a money tree in the yard and found a site based in Perth, that sells what i want around $600 below rrp. He said he knew the site as he checks them all regularly. Told him to have a think about it as i cannot afford NOT to go there.

See what happens in the next week.
Best wishes to your good lady, Mae Lyne, Carl.

I have been some more of my ITQ course to-day. I have learnt about how edit paragraphs and insert line breaks, insert clip-art and shapes. I have also start to learn about tables. This is all done in Microsoft Word.

Joan, This site has the cpap machine i'm planning to get. The S9 Autoset with humidifier.

Some info on the left side of the page you may be interested in. (knowledge is power).
Who knows, it may suit your needs, bearing in mind there are lots of different manufacturers with a variety of models to suit.

Thank you, Jon; and I wish the best to you and Sally.

Mae Lyne's machine is a CPAP; her air pressure prescription is 8.0. It also has a humidifier to keep her air passages from drying out. She uses a cloth mask that fits over her nose called the SleepWeaver: SleepWeaver Soft Cloth Nasal CPAP Mask; Light, Quiet & Comfortable CPAP Masks for Sleep Apnea. She also has one that fits over her nose and mouth that she uses if her nose is stopped up.

Tell Sally I understand completely! :)

Today must be the day my luck turns around. Enough bad luck already, welcome good luck!

Was using a free but ad-heavy VPN service to watch American TV. Whatever site I visited when using this proxy, I won something CNN, I was the 1,000,000 visitor this week. NBC, same thing, the millionth visitor. And ABC, as well, as on some other sites. Incredible luck Really, I got this whenever I opened a new site:

This must be true, the Internet marketers don't lie, or?
