    I'm officially an adult now...

My wife and I just bought a house... our first.

The last two months have been a whirlwind. I'm still shocked at how fast the whole process went: ~ 2 months from first seeing the house to moving in and renovating.

The downside is I haven't had a chance to play with my computers; however, I am collecting neat new power tools and other toys that go with houses. So far, my best toy is a 6 burner Bertazzoni professional that arrives tomorrow. Of course, there's a man cave, renovations are underway as we speak, which is gonna be neat... I'm not sure what about it I'm more excited about: having a dedicated game room, or the fact that the lower level is X degrees cooler than the upstairs; thus, my cpu temps are going to drop... lol.

Congrats! With the way real estate is so depressed in Calif nowadays, it's probably a good time to buy. Hope this is the bottom of the slump and you don't end up underwater!

My wife and I bought out first house about this time of year in 1977, took my entire monthly paycheck to make the monthly mortgage payment. Ah yes, the good ol' days.

I had been an apartment dweller for most of my life until me and the little lady bought a house 12 years ago. I suddenly had to become a Handy Man and fix things. You will also and you will quickly find out that you will spend your weekends at Home Depot.

When I first saw the title of the thread I thought you were going to tell us you'd turned 18 so could class yourself as an adult
All the best with the new purchase and hope you have many happy years there.
