Picture Association

This is something an artist friend of mine suggested. The following are her words, not mine:

I thought a little experiment would be fun, a visual image association game. Here is how I see it: I'll post an image and the next poster responds to my image with another image. The next poster responds to that poster with his/her own image.

No words allowed in the images posted.

How do i get my picture icons to show the actual picture thumbnail?
It seems ive tried different options and i still cant get to see a preview of the picture i have highlighted, i have to open it fully in order to see what it is .anyway to change this? windows 7 btw

viewing a picture in "My Picture" folder.
