Both option added to poll.
Desktop
Laptop
Both
thanks for adding the "both" option i've been trying to figure how to.. lol
I prefer my 2 desktops (one reason is because I need a big screen), but the wife likes her 3 laptops (which I maintain). The big number of systems is because we live in different locations and I would not like to lug the stuff over the ocean - not even a laptop.
i choose desktops just for more upgrade capabililiites and plus i dont travel anywhere far away and i dont go to college so i dont need a laptop right now.
I have a need for both. I use my Laptop the most as I have little room in my house and no place for a desk. However, I have a very powerful laptop and use it more often anyway as I can sit where ever and still be able to work. I do miss my desktop, I miss the abilities it has in comparison to the laptop and I miss being able to sit at a desk and be up close and personal with the monitor....lol I just can't find a place I am comfortable enough with my laptop to use it the way I did with my desktop.
I have a ton of computers in my house. The wife has a Laptop and a Netbook, I have a Laptop, Netbook, Desktop (I use it for games on the projector) and both the kids each have a desktop. I also have my old HP Laptop I still use occasionally, and I have 2 Dell 2850 Rack Mount servers and a Dell NAS setup. So yea I have a $400.00 a month electric bill.......lol

You can't really upgrade a laptop. A laptop wouldn't have enough harddisk space for my data, and I'm not a fan of external hard drives.
When I leave my office for a longer period of time I borrow my father's laptop (thank you Daddy!). But I don't really enjoy working with it. It's ok for emailing and a bit of web surfing but it's not really suitable for any serious graphics jobs.
