Acer is so-so. my laptop rigth now has the intel graphics and I dont like it. Anything that involved graphics or medium gaming was done on the dell becouse of the dedicated ati graphics. The downside was the the dell has a 1.4Ghz processor, but it was esily oc to 1.9Ghz, the same goes for the graphics card, it was oc-able.

Unfortunately, no the judge wouldn't sign off the warrant to go retrieve it

sorry to hear that, i was hoping for a happy ending..., i had one laptop stolen from me before i've recovered it about a 2 mos. with a tracking software (prey). i got his ip, location and importantly his picture. the ip was useless but his photo was sure is useful. he sold it to a nearby pawnshop, the owner of the pawnshop recognizes the thief since i have the laptop papers with me. the owner was kind enough to return it (for a fair amount of course, he said for storage fee).

Yes, it was unfortunate, they did a full on investigation also, the guy who had my laptop had severall other all reported lost/stolen. I went in to get an interview with an officer, got questioned, and in the end the judge said the way I obtained the IP address and location was not substantial enough, even with the thief's Internet provider backed up my claim

No problem. I have had Prey on my laptop since day one and just happened to hear about it somewhere else and checked it out. I really like that it's open source and will snap pics of the bad guys.
