    Think This Would Work?

I bought $239.96 worth of xbox 360 games at BesyBuy the other day. I see today that NewEgg is doing:

    11/1
10% off Games (excludes pre-orders), 15% off Gaming accessories (excludes pre-orders), 10% off AMD and Intel motherboards

Some of the games are 4$ cheaper without the promo code. I was impatient and opened three of the four I bought.

    Medal Of Honor (Opened)
    Dead Rising 2 (Opened)
Fallout 3:Game Of The Year Edition (Opened)
    Fallout: New Vegas (Unopened)

I'm looking at ordering some on newegg with this promo going on, do you think if I bought the games I already have and tried returning them they would take em? I'm not sure how they catalog things.

No, Best Buy won't take them. They only do exchanges due to media issues and such but no returns on opened games.

BestBuy may not even do an exchange for media issues. I bought some software, got home, opened the package, and there was deep scratch on the disk. I immediately went back to the same store and they refused a refund or exchange. Basically implied I made the scratch.

So they would not allow you to return an unopened game? I'll have to give them a call, I figured I could always return Fallout:New Vegas but heck if they won't take that back...

    Here's what you do.

Buy them off of Newegg, return the ones you get from newegg to best buy.

Yeah, that's what I was suggesting I do when I made the thread. I'm assuming they would take them in that condition since they are new and unopened.

Providing that the new egg ones are packaged the same and don't have stickers on them that you cannot get off without damaging the packaging then your stuck with extra 4 games.
phone best buy and see what their returns policy is before you commit to surplus.

Newegg games do not come with stickers on them. If best buy asks (they probably won't) you bought them for a gift so you took the price tags off.

Only one major flaw in that theory is best buy has their own branded price sticker on their unopened packaging and so would newegg leaving an undetectable (carefull!!!) sticker switch as a last option.

Most items also contain those plastic bar-coded magnetic anti theft stickers and could also pose a risk for returning (got busted on the way INTO the store).
