    Where to post.. Start Button

Windows XP.. I need help please.
Hello.. I don't really know where to start with my question.. so here goes.

I used to be able to click on my Start button.. saw the programs I wanted Pinned there..
if I wanted to remove any one I could right click on it and un-pin it .. now that doesn't work..

How can I get the un-pin feature back on my Windows XP Start button list ?
Thanks much for any help on this .

THW .. I'm back .....I have the folder pinned to the start menu..however it seems to
be empty when I click on it. I never saw the " merge " word when I extracted it from the zipped folder.

I missed something............What is it that you wanted to pin to the task bar?
Or do you have another use for pin option?

No you've not missed anything.. I used to be able to pin / or un-pin my icons for programs to my START button.. I cannot do that now.

I use to do that to a program I used a lot ,I would pin it to my Start Button.. by right clicking the name .. now that isn't working as it used to do.
Nor can I delete or un-pin an item from the Start button list .. like it used to be..
When I opened a program it showed up on the Start button list.
I hope I've not confused you with my replies.

    Hi LPT,

Is this the option you are missing,

If so, then follow this link to fix it :)
[Fix] Pin to Start Menu Option is Missing in Windows XP, Vista and 7 - Tweaking with Vishal

The programs at the left side bottom are the programs that are frequently used. They can be pinned to the top of the list and they can be unpinned from there. Hope this helps.

gladson hi.... thank you so very much for your reply.. I've been to the link you provided.. I tried all of the suggestions.. rebooted after each.. none really worked..
then I downloaded the bottom one.. unzipped it.. as suggested.. Rebooted.. hopefully this will be the answer I was hoping for.
I'm so very greatful to you... I'll be back to let you know the final outcome.
    Thanks so much again.
