In the morning I'm headed off for the trip of a lifetime. Instead of the annual Thanksgiving trip to Seattle to feast with the in-laws, this year we're headed to Bali. Don't get me wrong... I like them, but this is waaaaaaaay better.

Back to me getting eaten... Apparently there's a Tiger shark breeding ground in the Lombok strait, which makes sightings very common, especially in Nusa Dua, which is where we're staying, and the poppin surf spot this time of year.

I've been surfing Ocean Beach (San Francisco) most of my life, which is right smack dab in the middle of the red triangle. There's a seal breeding ground here which attracts plenty of Great Whites, but for some reason, they don't really scare me all that much... they should, I know, but I'm not all that bright, so I don't think about them. Tigers on the other hand... they scare the crap out of me. Unlike a Great White, they don't stop at just one bite.
And if you don't get eaten, it was not nice knowing us? :) Have fun sounds like the trip of a lifetime. A Guy

Have a safe trip fumz and be careful while traveling abroad. And don't get so adventurous to wet the sharks appetite. We wouldn’t want to see you on any of those world’s dumbest TV shows

    Peace

I'm back and pleased to report that all appendages are intact. However, I must say I was really disappointing with the quality of the water. It was shocking how much garbage there was... it was literally everywhere. I don't care where you jumped in the water on which side of the island, you cannot escape the litter that is ever present. At first I assumed it was garbage from tourists, till I spent some time cleaning up and inspecting the reef a little... it became clear this was an effort in utter futility and was was really disheartening.

Welcome back Fumz. It's good to hear that you are still fully intact.

It is sad how people will just litter like that without realizing how much damage they are eventually doing to the planet and themselves.

Welcome back Fumz. I hope you had a good time anyway. The situation is more horrific than most know, I'm sad to say...
