F.lux: software to make your life better
TBH I never have any problem with my eyes and the screens day or night, at last check my vision was 20/20
bet your sat there wi' shades on, feet up,Brandy glass in one hand, ban hammer twirling in the other.
This is my new setup. I spent about two days preparing for it, moving everything out of here, building, and then putting it all back together again. It isn't finished by any means just yet. I have to get some 1/2" diameter black wire looms to get this mess of noodles under control. But so far, I really like it. It is definitely better than the unfinished, tiny pine desk I had before and I am really loving the 180-degree surface space and being able to reach and control everything without having to move my chair at all. I am over the moon that my desk chair fits in here and has full 360-degree rotation with ample clearance as well.
Anyway, this is the Walker Edison Soreno Black with Black Glass desk and it's at Amazon right now for $108.97 - I received two of them as an early x-mas gift from my parents so I could make it a "U" desk instead of a "L" and now I have a spare rectangular pane and support in case anything ever happened, or I wanted to put it up somewhere else. This is definitely better than the crappy particle-board desks out there for the same or a lot more money and again, I am very pleased with how it turned out. I now wish I could get ALL of my room's furniture in this style and paint my walls gray or put up some masonry on the walls and get some black tile, but that isn't going to happen... lmao.
That said, I'm going to probably mount my stereo speakers onto little black shelving and maybe stick another one the same length of the desk above them, so that when I eventually (and hopefully by next year sometime) can finally build a new desktop system, that I'll be able to fit another two 23" displays onto it. I haven't decided on that method just yet though...
Enjoy!
I got this desk back around 1980 when I worked for MA Bell. These were the standard desks from about 1960. Solid Oak and luckily the top and the two pedestals come apart. Each pedestals has three legs and they are needed, this thing weights a ton. Some day I will attempt to refinish it but it does have over thirty years of "character" That's my new system sitting on it. (Corsair 400R Case) The old one was on the floor but gave it to wife.
