striped a screw

okay, so one my older laptop I needed to open it up (commpleatly) to replace the thermal paste and clean out the dust. The bad thing is that the fan, heatsink, and heatpipe are not under a removable panel. Thus evrything needs to come out: keyboard, fromt panel, dvd drive, etc.

So when I got to the last scre it striped. Unfortunatly I had to re-peice it together, but how han I get the screw out?

Note: its a case screw.

my idea:
I thought about aplying "crazy glue" to the crew and the screwdriver and leting it set and try to unscrew that way, but wanted to ask around before I atemped anything.

Is there any part of the screw protruding that you can get a grip of using a pair of pliers?

No its recessed in the case.

also something strange: I unscrew it 1/4 out and then it wont go any further.

Have you tried different screwdrivers to see if any of them can get a positive purchase on the screw? It is quite possible that the screw was not inserted squarely in the first place and has become cross-threaded.

yes I have tried different screwdrivers, and it does seem it got cross-threaded. Also I just had an idea about using a rubber band for grip(between the screwdriver and the screw). Also don't be deceived by the size of the screw in the pic, its actually pretty small.

When it is screwed 1/4 out, does it protude enough for pliers to get hold of?

no it does not.
