New Build Questions

okay, so after some more reserch I am going with Intel.(sory for the double post)
So I have narrowed down some motherboards:
Newegg.com - ASUS Rampage III Formula LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Newegg.com - EVGA 141-GT-E770-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
and then my preferred one:
Newegg.com - ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer "Ultimate Gamer" choose 3Way SLI + PhysX at Real X16 X58 CEB Intel Motherboard

Since my budget is ~$1800 which mobo looks the most convincing? also sorry for asking all of these questions, it got in depth and detail really fast, and with the extensive amount of options out there.

The Supercomputer doesn't appear to have USB3.0 if that would be important in the future.

I'm not sure what the pluses are other than the extra PCI slots.

okay, well I have finally narrowed it down to: EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI
The reason i decided to go with this motherboard was that I have had EVGA products before, but the main thing was that the ASUS board was CEB instead of ATX, also I will get a USB 3 add in card for the motherboard, so I will have USB 3 that available. What also made me doubt the ASUS board was some bad reviews and complains that people have been making, so I would rather have the peace of mind.
One thing I am considering for my new build is water cooling which is a new concept for me, so all I do plan on water cooling is the CPU.

So I was looking at the CORSAIR Hydro H70 for CPU cooling. There are good reviews on the web about it, but I am uncertain about waterccooling since that is new territory.

Not to worry as these are sealed systems and though no water/liquid cooling is 100 percent leak/spill proof these are likely to get as close to 100 percent as anything. What I like about my H50 is the small high performance heat sink which makes performance OC ram a strong option but with Air cooling they tend to be over sized and can cross over and obstruct the ram ports.

CustomPC magazine have reviewed this as performing as well as the Cosair H70 and costing half as much. They also said it's slightly quieter at full speed.

If your looking at a full rig, and I presume you are if your gifting your laptop, don't forget to factor in a good PSU and case and a monitor.
In my humble opinion opinion the monitor is the most important part of a computer. It's the part you use all the time.
I have a mate who has a fantastic rig with a high end GPU and he looks at it on a crappy little TN panel. He's got fantastic graphics but if he moves his head the colours change and the blacks are just a blur.
