    Its the centre spindle from a 60's record player, you can stack up to about 5 * 45 records and it will play the sequencially

    Yowanvista, your entry 1354 doesn't look like a castration tool....it is more likely a nose ring used on a bull so that you can attach a rope to it and lead it around?!!!!

    Well done. :)

    This is part of the autochange mechanism of a record player. It is the spindle on which the records sit. After playing a record, the pickup arm moves back to the rest position. As it does so, a cam and lever mechanism causes the bottom section of the spindle to contract, thus allowing the next record to drop onto the turntable ready to play.
