Last night, I sent an email to a (distant) relative of mine who lives in Bundaberg.
The email was returned as a 'failed delivery'.

I sincerely hope that she has changed her email, and not unavailable through other reasons...
Bundaberg got hammered too. A lot of the telecommunication networks were affected in that area. Although I'm sure your friend is okay.

I hope she's OK Irene, it could mean the lines are down so no Internet at present.
I hope you are both right. Maybe it is a telecommunication failure. I will try again in a few days.
I am delighted to say that I have received a reply and my relative, their home and the family are safe.
Their daughter was fortunately at home and not at University in Toowoomba where there were monstrous floods!

    Great to hear, Irene.

Also, haven't seen any posts by Nina-jay of late. Hope she and her family didn't get washed out in queensland.
Cyclone Anthony, i think it's called, is off the coast of Qld with another one brewing.

Hope everyone affected is faring ok up there.

I don't believe it, that same coastline has just been hammered by that demon cyclone.

I emailed my (distant) relative again, but have not heard anything yet..

I don't think it hit as hard as they thought it would so not so much damage done, which is a good job as that coast has had everything thrown at it lately.
Hope you hear back soon Irene.

    280 kph= 174 MPH

Strong enough and still raining in central Australia according to satellite photos.

That is equivalent to Hurricane Katrina in the U.S.
    Once was enough for me.

Just received an email this morning - all is well.

Although they had strong winds and heavy rain, they were not too close to where the cyclone crossed onto land. :)
