You guys....LOL. You want to know old? I was already into my IT career about 15 years when Windows 1.0 came out. I installed that version on a state-of-the-art Compaq PC with a 20Mb hard drive and thought I'd never fill that much disk space.
My first job as a programmer was using RPG on an IBM 360 Model 20. Everything was on punched card back then. Even the compiler. The input, calcs and output sections were placed into three different places in the compiler deck. The compiler deck itself took up an entire 30" card drawer. We were limited to 16Kb of memory. About a year after I started, the company added Disk Drives that were nearly the size of a washing machine and more memory. We had a whopping 24Kb of memory and thought we were in heaven.
I can just hear the young guys now--What's a compiler? What's RPG? Cards?
It's even more amazing we're still breathing!

I'd answer, but I'm gasping for air. Besides - I can't figure out these danged Internets...
Time for my nap.
