Past tense? I still feel that way, but I have learned to face my fears. Most computer users view the progress in this technology with eagerness. While I enjoy improvements, not everything on the cyber horizon is improvements.

A computer is somewhat like a firearm, a tool that can be used for either good or evil, depending on who is doing the aiming, and holding the trigger. However, unlike a firearm, computers are more like WMDs, because they can effect large masses of people at the same time.

The irony is that most computer users have been lulled into an euphoria believing that they are the one's holding the trigger and doing the aiming. Computers are a little like drugs, at first a person can only see the good in them, and the change can be likened to putting a frog in cool water and turning on the heat. The frog never realizes what is happening...until it is cooked.

If you don't understand what I'm croaking about, join us frogs.
