There is a glitch with the 1155 boards.
You may want to hold up on your purchase.

You might want o have a look through this thread first:

    Intel Discloses Chip Glitch

And make sure that RAM is compatible with the board (on the QVL list)

Otherwise it looks like a solid build.

Looks great, but as already mentioned, ensure you get one of the glitch free chipsets.

thanks for the heads up, maybe that explains why the store i was going to buy it from all off a sudden removed it from their store. How will i know if this MB suffers from this? if it does and then gets a recall how will i know some other store won't still be selling the same MB with that type of flaw? will there be a new revision number?

key uses i want to be able to do with the new rig is play civ 5 and supreme commander forged alliance on full setting and max map size...

and some heavy photoshop and other things at the same time.... virtual pc performance is also pretty important.

Have you looked at the thread suggested by Smarteyeball? The info there suggests that all the boards with this chipset have been "pulled" and that upgraded boards will appear soon. Another suggestion is that Evga boards will not suffer from this problem.
I can't see that because they must use the same chipset ,so I would follow that thread closely and other sources eg manufactureres websites until they announce the problem with this chipset is resolved.
With the rig your building I think it will be well worth waiting until this relatrively minor glitch is sorted out.
Intel will be pressing their motherboard partners to get "fixed" boards out as soon as possible because this has rather taken the "shine" off their brand new super CPU release.

    Hope this helps, John

    Update (bump)

In 2 weeks I'll be going home to Sweden and was thinking of buying my new pc, I've selected all of the components myself and want input so I know there won't be any problems assembling the computer and also, If you have any suggestions on how to make it better/cheaper but VERY important is the noise level to be as low as possible since this pc will be placed in my living room.

    The new PC config

Also, i was thinking of buying a slate for use when traveling and waling around in Poland so i'll need 3G built in for translation and map purposes. I want windows 7 and not android since win7 can run anything and everything I need. What do you think of this one: Acer Iconia W501

I just found this CHASSI: NZXT H2 Case Video Review and my question is: is it better than the Ravenstone? the reason i choose the ravenstone is because of the different installation position of the motherboard inside it, thinking if the heat dissipates faster the fans won't have to work as hard which will make it quieter, how's my logic on this one?

Or, what about this one? Fractal Design Define XL Case Video Review

I have the same ram and only hitch I had was using a fair sized cooler with 2 fans thus having to remove the heat spreader on the stick of ram closest to the fan due to clearance issues with the fan. but if you only have one fan and it is on the opposite side than it is smooth sailing.

    Hi.
I would look on the manufacture's websites regarding the cases and also google reviews of the cases.
Think about how easy it is going to be to build. Is there enough room to be able to work on it easily?
Also if you search on youtube you will find videos of people unboxing or even whole builds in the cases you are looking at.

    Good luck, John:)
