I'm going to give it to Jim. It is a TV tuner, specifically a turret tuner, that was used in TV sets in the 60s and 70s. These have one set of pretuned circuits for each channel, mounted on a drum that is rotated by the channel selector; rotation of the drum connects each set of tuned circuits in turn to the receiver antenna circuit, radio-frequency amplifier, and r-f oscillator.
