I recommend the second method, Live Post as you can have this open in a separate tab/window and it dynamically updates itself without you having to do anything.

i have two tabs open one thr thread and the other chillout index index updates ,the dropdown in quick links when i click threads i posted in ,they all show updated bar this thread,perhaps ive been having too much fun.
