That's a flywheel, the steam engine turns that wheel with the piston you see on the right at the top, that flywheel then turns the wheels via the gear system attached to the centre of the flywheel.

OK, we have a winner. I was thinking of the more traditional Steam Engine that ran on tracks, but you've got it. My error.

It was a flywheel off a steam engine, it's hard to explain, go one page back and see the attached image

There's only one accessible directory on the device and that's camera roll, and when you attach an image, it needs an open directory, iPad is like lockdown.
