Oh hell so sorry to hear that Alan, lets hope the police get your Car back and put the thieves in prison.
Oh hell so sorry to hear that Alan, lets hope the police get your Car back and put the thieves in prison.
One can only hope. I walked past the spot where the car had been and it just seems like a dream. Something that's been a part of my life for so long and it's gone. I hope it comes back to me even if it's a new project. What I'm dreading is the Insurance Company and those negotiations if the car doesn't get found. When some jerk wad opens the glove box their going to find my registration slips dating all the way back to 1975......wow......like they'll even care that they stole an enthusiasts car.
Assuming this just happened, it's too early to give up hope just yet. I'm not trying to sugarcoat your situation, but a lot of these things are done by nitwits who want to joyride for a while. After they've had their "fun" they abandon the car.
I hope you get it back soon.
Sorry about your loss, I was a Lic P.I. In Phoenix for 19 years and if you have any leads at all let me know and I'll see how I can help. I am shocked because now days they mostly go after the news ones but being a classic someone is needing parts. If you kept it parked outside then they were scoping it out.
I still offer anything I can do from here.

Sorry to hear about your car Alan. From the pics she's a dandy. I sure hope you get her back.
Though it wasn't a car I know what it is to have somthing you've been holding onto stolen as I had a large portion of my music collection stolen some years back. Never did replace eveything and to this day it still pisses me off.
Anyway I pray they find your car and get it back to you in one piece.
Good luck.
Cheers everyone, I'm still holding onto hope but the reality is that like americancritic said I was totally scoped out and they didn't even try to start the car but rather towed it away in the dead of the night/morning. Early Z's are tough cold starts and even with the manual choke all the way out it must be warmed up for at least 5-10 minutes before things smooth out.......does anyone remember those days? God I already miss my car......my first car.......shit
Very sorry about this Alan. I think americancritic is right, it's been stolen to order. In that case it's off the street being resprayed etc or broken down for parts. Either way, unless they bust the gang you're unlikely to see it again.
As I say, condolences. Can't imagine how it must feel.
I tell myself it's only stuff......which in the end it is, but as raw as it is at this moment and all the good and not so good times in it and about it I'm still grieving.....silly I know!
Real sorry to hear of your loss
