    My sister, my brother and his wife are coming for a surprise visit. And I need to get out NOW.

    Somebody please say they can beam me up????

    No. And even if I did, you wouldn't want them.

    But on a better note, they've finally left, after an argument about my dad's cats that got started because I'm pro-life and I refused to have them put down for no valid reason.

    What's better when an animal is sick? Have them put down so that you can save money? Or do everything in your power to try to help, no matter what the cost?

    It depends. If the animal can be cured and can be brought back in shape, I'd say go for it.
    If the animal risks to live the rest of the life in sickness or with health problems (which will cause him/her pain or suffering in some way) you may well consider putting him/her down. It may be better for you (who don't see your animal die slowly and painfully) and for him/her.
