    It would probably work.

    Growing up, I lived next to a farmer that used a mixture of used motor oil and gasoline on the fly damaged ears of his animals. The wounds would heal in a matter of days.

    I just like imagining the thought process of the first farmer who stood in a field with a can of WD-40 whilst eyeing off a cow...
