    I need Audio testers

    I am in the process of producing a series of 'Introduction to Windows 8" video tutorials. They are mainly for the members of my computer club. But if Shawn finds them to be worthy, I will post them on our Windows 8 forum too.

    With the recording I had the hardest time with the audio. It would play well on my system but be hardly audible on any other system. And that I only found out after I had already produced 6 (of 10 planned) chapters.

    I thought they were all good for the bin and 3 days of work down the drain. But then I had the idea of upping the dB with Format Factory which seems to have done the trick. Before I go any further, I just want to make sure that the audio is in fact audible on any system.

    So if you please could play the Youtube link of one chapter below (full screen is best) and let me know how you hear the audio. Thank for your help.

    Plays OK here, WHS, at expected volume. No issues.

    Sounds good to me. There is a very low background hum, but that isn't too surprising, since you had to crank up the volume as you did.

    Thanks guys. Looks like I salvaged my hard work. I sent a mail to the owners of the capture program (WMCapture) which I bought years ago to ask for advice. I never had a problem before, but their new version (V6), which is actually very nice, is giving me those problems. Maybe I am only missing a setting.

    Sounds good to me. Got the small background hum mentioned by Seeker, but nothing that I am not used to with Internet videos and such.

    Sounds OK here. Only hear a slight hum at 80+ volume setting. Hum is not noticeable at reasonable volume setting.

    Yep, I can hear it just fine as well. I do get a slight hiss at 80+ volume level though. :)

    With the default YouTube settings (Full Volume), and our Gateway DX4831-01e volume at (30%) it sounds good.
    At any percentage above that I start to pick up a rushing sound like water falling over a rapids.

    I hear this:

    We have Realtek High Definition Audio, and the two stock speakers that shipped with the DX48.

    Some personal history;
    I was born deaf in my right ear, and every hearing test I have had over the years has come to the conclusion that I hear the lower range of sounds. If I remember correctly I can hear as low as 180Hz I could find my chart if you needed it.

    If that is your voice in the tutorials it is a pleasing narration.
